Great Promises to the American Indians

And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

"Come unto me, 0 ye house of Israel, and it shall be made manifest unto you how great things the Father hath laid up for you, from the foundation of the world;"  The Book of Mormon, ETHER, 4:14

Introduction

We have learned from the title page of the Book of Mormon that the American Indians are the first people listed for which it is intended: "Written to the Lamanites (the American Indians), who are a remnant of the House of Israel; and also to Jew and Gentile." The prophet Joseph Smith affirmed that the title page is a "literal translation" and "not by any means a modern composition" of himself or any other recent man.  From the onset of the early church he also spoke clearly on what the Book of Mormon is:

"The Book of Mormon is a record of the forefathers of our western tribes of Indians; having been found through the ministration of an holy angel, and translated into our own language by the gift and power of God, after having been hid up in the earth for the last fourteen hundred years, containing the word of God which was delivered unto them (the ancestors of the American Indians). By it we learn that our western tribes of Indians are descendants from that Joseph who was sold into Egypt, and the land of America is a promised land unto them, and unto it all the tribes of Israel will come, with as many of the Gentiles as shall comply with the requisitions of the new covenant." (History of the Church, volume 1, page 315)

We are now living in that age when the Book of Mormon revelations and prophecies of Joseph Smith have and will come to pass. The fastest growing areas of the Mormon Church are in those areas heavily populated by descendants of the people of the Book of Mormon (American Indians).  Recently released LDS church statistics show approximately one-third of the membership now resides in the countries of Mexico, Central America, and South America.  Even modern experts who have studied and recognized the rates of rapid increase in Mormon church membership in Latin America have predicted that at some point in the early part of the twenty-first century the majority of the world-wide Mormon Church will be people of American Indian descent.  It is evident that the Mormon church has been established primarily for the descendants of Lehi (a Book of Mormon prophet).

Book of Mormon, 3rd Nephi, chapter 16, verses 11-12: "And then I will remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, 0 house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them.

"And I will show unto thee, 0 house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, 0 house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fullness of my gospel."

The main message of the Book of Mormon is all about the covenants, and the promises of God to the American Indians of these latter days.

Book of Mormon, 1st Nephi, Chapter 15, verses 11 - 15 quote "Do ye not remember the things which the Lord hath said?  If ye will not harden your hearts, and ask me in faith, believing that ye shall receive, with diligence in keeping my commandments, surely these things shall be made known unto you.

"Behold, I say unto you, that the house of Israel was compared unto an olive-tree, by the Spirit of the Lord which was in our father; and behold are we not broken off from the house of Israel, and are we not a branch of the house of Israel?

"And now, the thing which our father meaneth concerning the grafting in of the natural branches through the fullness of the Gentiles, is, that in the latter days, when our seed shall have dwindled in unbelief, yea, for the space of many years, and many generations after the Messiah shall be manifested in body unto the children of men, then shall the fulness of the gospel of the Messiah come unto the Gentiles, and from the Gentiles unto the remnant of our seed"

"And at that day shall the remnant of our seed (the Lamanites of this latter day) know that they are of the house of Israel, and that they are the covenant people of the Lord; and then shall they know and come to the knowledge of their forefathers, and also to the knowledge of the gospel of their Redeemer, which was ministered unto their fathers by him; wherefore, they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer and the very points of his doctrine, that they may know how to come unto him and be saved.

"And then at that day will they not rejoice and give praise unto their everlasting God, their rock and their salvation"?

2nd Nephi chapter 3 verses 20-23 tells of the Book of Mormon coming to the American Indians of these latter days, that God will remember the covenant he made with the American Indians forefathers for their children of these latter days.  Verse 23 states because of the covenant the Lamanites will hearken unto the words of the Book of Mormon.

All through the Book of Mormon it tells of Gods covenant made for the benefit of the Lamanites of today, and urges them to realize they are Gods covenant people of the house of Israel.

Book of Mormon, 2nd Nephi, Chapter 3, Verse 12 states to the effect that The words of the Bible and the words of the Book of Mormon shall grow together unto the confounding of false doctrines, and laying down of contentions, establishing peace among the American Indians of these latter days, bringing them to the knowledge of their fathers, and also to the knowledge of God’s covenants.

Book of Mormon, 2nd Nephi, Chapter 9, verse 41, quote "Behold the way for man is narrow, but it lieth in a straight course before him, and the keeper of the gate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employeth no servant there; and there is none other way save it be by the gate; for he cannot be deceived, for the Lord God is his name".

Verse 42 quote "And whoso knocketh, to him will he open; and the wise, and the learned, and they that are rich, who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches - yea, they are they whom he despiseth; and save they shall cast these things away, and consider themselves fools before God, and come down in the depths of humility, he will not open unto them".

Verse 43 quote "But the things of the wise and the prudent shall be hid from them forever-yea, that happiness which is prepared for the saints".

Verse 53 quote "And behold how great the covenants of the Lord, and how great his condescension's unto the children of men; and because of his greatness, and his grace and mercy, he has promised unto us (the American Indian forefathers) that our seed (children) shall not utterly be destroyed, according to the flesh, but that he would preserve them; and in future generations they shall become a righteous branch unto the House of Israel". That future time that is promised to the American Indians is now. According to the covenants and promises God made to their fathers, the American Indians are to be brought to the knowledge of their fathers and covenants God made for their children, the American Indians of these last days.

The Prophet Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and early Mormon Church leaders explained in public sermons, in plain bold words; that the American Indians are God’s covenant people, of the blood of Israel, which is a superior birthright to the Gentiles and the Mormons were to do all they possibly could for the Indians.

The last admonition of the Prophet Joseph Smith on June 23, 1844 "This day the Lord has shown to me that which was never shown to me before, that I have thousands of friends that never pretended friendship, while others have sought to crawl into my bosom because of my good feelings towards them, and now are the vipers and do seek my life; and if they shall take it they will pursue you; they will do it anyhow....I therefore will say unto you Saints and Elders of Israel:...you will yet be called upon to go forth and call upon the free men from Maine to gather themselves together to the Rocky Mountains; and the Redmen from the West and all people from the North and from the South and from the East, and go to the West, to establish themselves in the strongholds of their gathering places, and there you will gather the Redmen to their center from their scattered and dispersed situation, to become the strong arm of Jehovah."

An Apostle of the Mormon Church, Wilford Woodruff stated in 1855: "I want to know now, if the Mormons can really and truly realize our true position with regard to the Lamanites (the American Indians), or do you consider them inferior? Do you ever read the Book of Mormon? If you do, do you believe and realize the truth of its sayings and also what the Lord revealed to the Prophet Joseph Smith? These are the things that we have in our possession; we have them in the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the History of Joseph Smith. Do you read them? If you lay them to heart as the things of God, you will feel that it is necessary to do our duty to our red brethren. When the Priesthood was restored, I knew then that if it were not for the Israelites (The American Indians), the Gentiles might go to hell and be damned. The Lord would not take much pains with us anyhow, were it not for the promised seed (the American Indians). Instead of them being inferior to us in birthright, they are superior in birthright; and they stand first in many instances, with regard to the promises of God in particular.

In 1875 Orson Pratt, a Mormon apostle stated that many have flattered themselves that we the Mormons are the ones, it is not so. We have got to be helpers, we have got to be those who cooperate with the Indians, for the Lord will have respect unto them, because they are of the blood of Israel, and the promises of their fathers extends unto them.

Brigham Young stated that what the Mormons did for the Indians determined whether the Mormons went up or down.  And he stated also that when the Lord brought in the Indians to save the Mormon religion, we would be the servants and the Indians the masters.

Mormon Apostle Parley P. Pratt in an 1851 address to the American Indians said; "You are a branch of the house of Israel. You are descended from the Jews, or rather more generally, from the tribe of Joseph, which Joseph was a great prophet and ruler in Egypt.’ Early church leaders were anxious for the opportunity to convert the Indians, and stressed that the American Indians had to be converted before the foretold gathering of Israel.

The American Indians are to know that their choice birthright is of the house of Israel, and they are Gods covenant people numbered in the first covenant. There is a second great work to take place in the Mormon religion to convince the Lamanites (the American Indians) of the Book of Mormon which has already gone forth among them. The field is ready to harvest, and the laborers are few.

Mormon apostle Orson Pratt stated "We [meaning the Mormons] have forgotten the forlorn condition of the sons of Joseph, the American Indians. We have forgotten the predictions of the Holy Prophets among their fathers, who so earnestly prayed to the Most High for themselves, and their children to the latest generation, Whose prayers have been recorded in eternity, and preserved in the archives of Heaven, to be answered upon the head of their posterity in the last days. We have forgotten these things and are dwelling at ease in Zion, and neglecting the great redemption of Israel [the Lamanites].

"We have learned something, we are in possession of knowledge concerning these sons of the forest. Shall we therefore dwell at ease and allow the Indians to remain in ignorance of the great truths that we are in possession of concerning them? If so, woe be to these people [meaning the Mormons], or any other people that are entrusted with the sacred things committed to our charge, and who do not use them, for the redemption of those that are unacquainted with this knowledge. How do you think their fathers would feel to see their descendants, without knowledge of God and their ancestors? And then turn and see a people in their midst in possession of the sacred records and prophecies of their fathers, and yet that people, so careless and so much at ease that they used scarcely any exertion to impart the heavenly knowledge to them [the Lamanites].

"And if we do not accomplish this work of bringing this knowledge to the Israelites, we shall be accounted as salt that has lost its savor, and therefore is no longer good for anything but to be trodden under the feet of Israel, or our enemies. Who so will not extend the hand of mercy to help the Indians, will go down and lose their influence with God and all good men."

Mormon Church apostle Orson Pratt in 1855 stated if the Mormons didn’t make an all out effort to take the knowledge of the Book of Mormon to the Indians, and help them as much as they possibly could, the Mormons would be guilty of being at ease in Zion, as foretold by Isaiah, and in the Book of Mormon. 2nd Nephi verse 21 states that the devil would lead a people in these last days, carefully down to hell, which he has lulled away into carnal security, saying "all is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well." Verse 24 states "Woe be unto him that is at ease in Zion! woe be unto him that crieth: All is well" In Ether Chapter 8 verse 24, the Lord commands us in the last days to awake to our awful situation, the opposite of being at ease in Zion.

The people in the Book of Mormon wanted their children, the American Indians of these latter days, to know about their fathers.

The Book of Mormon is the true and only religion of the American Indians fathers, and through their faith and prayers it is handed down to the present day American Indians, that they might know of the truths of God.  Anything that conflicts with what is written in the Book of Mormon is not of God.

Doctrine and Covenants, Section 10:62 quote: "Yea, and I will also bring to light my gospel which was ministered unto them, and, behold, they shall not deny that which you have received, but they shall build it up, and shall bring to light the true points of my doctrine (which is the Mormon religion), yea, and the only doctrine which is in me".

And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

Jacob Chapter 4; verses 2-3, quote: "... but we can write a few words upon plates, which will give our children, (the American Indians) a small degree of knowledge concerning us, or concerning their Fathers --Now in this thing we do rejoice; and we labor diligently to engraven these words upon plates; hoping that our children will receive them with thankful hearts, and look upon them that they may learn with joy and not with sorrow, neither with contempt, concerning their first parents."

The present American Indians are often referred to in the Book Of Mormon as God's people, a people whose forefathers God covenanted with to preserve their seed and inherit the Americas during these latter days. The Book of Mormon is the book belonging to the American Indians, and it is their book which contains their record and their destiny. Christ states in 3 Nephi, Chapter l6; verse 9-12 that after the Indians (who are of the house of Israel) have been smitten and afflicted and slain, and have been cast out from among the gentiles, and have been hated by them, and have become a hiss and a byword among them --then at that day, he will remember his covenant, which he has made unto his people of the House of Israel, (the American Indians) and he will show the Indians that the gentiles shall not have power over them.

About 1600 years ago a forefather of the American Indians spoke in the Book of Mormon, to their children, the American Indians of this latter day.

Mormon, Chapter7, verses 1 - 3 quote "And now, behold, I Would Speak somewhat unto the remnant of this people who are spared, if it so be that God may give unto them my words, that they may know of the things of their fathers; yea, I speak unto you, (the Lamanites of this latter day) ye remnant of the house of Israel and these are the words which I speak:

"Know ye that ye are of’ the house of Israel.

"Know ye that ye must come unto repentance, or ye cannot be saved.

Verses 5-10 quote "Know ye that ye must come to the knowledge of your fathers, and repent of all your sins and iniquities, and believe in Jesus Christ, that he is the Son of God, and that he was slain by the Jews, and by the power of the Father he hath risen again, whereby he hath gained the victory over the grave; and also in him is the sting of death swallowed up.

"And he bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead, whereby man must be raised to stand before his judgment-seat.

"And he hath brought to pass the redemption of the world, whereby he that is found guiltless before him at the judgment day hath it given unto him to dwell in the presence of God in his kingdom, to sing ceaseless praises with the choirs above, unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end.

"Therefore repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus, and lay hold upon the Gospel of Christ, which shall be set before you, not only in this record but also in the record which shall come unto the Gentiles from the Jews, which record shall come from the Gentile unto you.

"For behold, this is written for the intent that ye may believe that; and if ye believe that ye will believe this also and if ye believe this ye will know concerning your fathers, and also the marvelous works which were wrought by the power of God among them.

"And ye will also know that ye (the American Indians) are a remnant of the seed of Jacob, therefore ye are numbered among the people of the first covenant; and if it so be that ye believe in Christ, and are baptized, first with water, then with fire and with the Holy Ghost, following the example of our Savior, according to that which he hath commanded us it shall be well with you in the day of judgment. Amen".

The Book of Mormon foretells that the gentiles would come in and pollute and corrupt God's holy church--the Mormon religion.

Mormon 8; verse 38, "O ye pollutions ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have you polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that misery which never dies –because of the praise of the world?"

3 NEPHI Chapter 16 verses 10-16 quote "And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them.

"And then will I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them.

"And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fulness of my gospel.

"But if the Gentiles will repent and return unto me, saith the Father, behold they shall be numbered among my people, O house of Israel.

"And I will not suffer my people, who are of the house of Israel, to go through among them, and tread them down, saith the Father.

"But if they will not turn unto me, and hearken unto my voice, I will suffer them, yea, I will suffer my people, O house of Israel, that they shall go through among them, and shall tread them down, and they shall be as salt that hath lost its savor, which is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of my people, O house of Israel.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, thus hath the Father commanded me__ that I should give unto this people( the American Indians) this land for their inheritance."

And, Jacob Chapter 5 (B. of M). tells that God will replace the corrupt, polluted, lofty gentile branches; who are sapping the life from the vineyard and are bringing forth bitter fruit; with the natural branches-- the American Indians.  It is the American Indians who will save the life still left in the root of the tree, the Mormon religion, and bring forth good fruit again to the Lord.  It is evident that it is time for this to take place.

The Book of Mormon plainly states that the only hope that the Mormon gentiles have is repentance and to be numbered with Gods people - the American Indians.

The Ancient writers of the Book of Mormon, wrote for the benefit of their children: the present day American Indians.

2 Nephi Chapter 28 verse 2, quote: "The things which shall be written out of the book shall be of great worth unto the children of men; and especially unto our seed (the American Indians), which is a remnant of the House of Israel."

2nd Nephi Chapter 30 verse 3, quote: "...there shall be many which shall believe the words which are written and they shall carry them forth unto the remnant of our seed." Verse 4, quote: "And then shall the remnant of our seed know concerning us, how that we came out from Jerusalem and that they are descendants of the Jews",

3rd Nephi Chapter 29 verse 8, quote: "Yea, and ye need not any longer hiss nor spurn nor make game of the Jews nor any of the House of Israel for behold, the Lord remembereth his covenant unto them, and he will do unto them according to that which he has sworn." Verse 9 states none can stop the Lord "unto the fulfilling of the covenant which he hath made unto the house of Israel". Chapter 30; The Lord calls on the gentiles of the last days to hear the words of Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, and turn from their wickedness and be numbered with God's people who are of the house of Israel.

2nd Nephi, chapter 29 in the Book of Mormon states the gentiles don't thank the Jews for the Bible, the same can be applied to the gentiles not being grateful to the present day American Indians for the Book of Mormon.  Those who believe the Book of Mormon, believe as Christ states in the Book of Mormon, it shouldn't be hid under a bushel basket, but the light should shine to light up the American Indian's house.

Book of Mormon 2nd Nephi, Chapter 29, verse 13 states the Jews shall have the words of the American Indians (Book of Mormon), and the American Indians shall have the words of the Jews (the Bible), and also the words of the lost tribes of Israel.

Verse 5 quote "And the gospel of Jesus Christ shall be declared among them; wherefore, they shall be restored unto the knowledge of their fathers, and also to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, which was had among their fathers.

Joseph Smith said a man can get closer to God, and obtain more knowledge necessary for salvation, from reading the Book of Mormon, than reading any other book.

The Fullness of the Gospel to be taken from the Gentiles and given to the American Indians

"For the things which some men esteem to be of great worth, both to the body and soul, others set at naught and trample under their feet. Yea, even the very God of Israel do men trample under their feet; I say, trample under their feet but I would speak in other words - they set him at naught, and hearken not to the voice of his counsels." (1 Nephi, 19:7)

Recent significant comments emanating from LDS church leaders unequivocally reject and denounce previously held church beliefs in Doctrine and Covenants scriptures. These bring to mind the events foretold in 3rd Nephi, 16:10, and the covenants made in the Book of Mormon to the American Indians:

"And thus commanded the Father that I should say unto you: At that day when the Gentiles shall sin against my gospel, and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with all manner of lyings, and of deceits, and of mischiefs, and of all manner of hypocrisy, and murders, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, and of secret abominations; and if they shall do all those things, and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, behold, saith the Father, I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them."

The following paragraphs of this same scripture should be of great comfort and value to all sincere-minded Lamanite (American Indian) people who are living at this moment in history:

"And then will I remember my covenant which I have made unto my people, O house of Israel, and I will bring my gospel unto them.

"And I will show unto thee, O house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel, and ye shall come unto the knowledge and fulness of my gospel."

(Verse 16) "Verily, verily, I say unto you, thus hath the Father commanded me - that I should give unto this people this land for their inheritance.

"And the words of the prophet Isaiah shall be fulfilled, which say:

"Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice: with the voice together shall they sing, for they shall see eye to eye when the Lord shall bring again Zion."

D & C 14:9-10 quote: "Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, who created the heavens and the earth, a light which cannot be hid in darkness: Wherefore, I must bring forth the fullness of my Gospel from the Gentiles unto the house of Israel (the American Indians)".

The Book of Mormon promises the American Indians that they are of the blood of Israel, descendants of the Jews, that the Gospel of their forefathers as taught in the Book of Mormon will be given unto them by Jesus Christ in the latter days, and that they will inherit this land, and as Gods covenant people be given great blessings.  The prophet Lehi spoke of the promises he received regarding his children and the continents of America (Book of Mormon 2nd Nephi 1:5): "...Yea, the Lord hath covenanted this land unto me, and my children forever, and also all those who should be led out of other countries by the hand of the Lord."

The Book of Mormon coming to the American Indians (House of Israel) has been one of the primary responsibilities of the Gentiles, (Book of Mormon 3rd Nephi 16, verse 4); we learn of the Gentiles blessings in 2nd Nephi 3 verse 12: "...in the latter day shall the truth come unto the Gentiles, that the fullness of these things shall be made known unto them." The Gentiles were also promised great blessings, but are warned they could lose them and their chance to be numbered with the House of Israel should they sin against the Gospel of Christ (3rd Nephi 16, verses 10-15)

Lehi talked of how his ancestor Joseph (who was carried captive into Egypt) prophesied the coming forth of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith (Book of Mormon 2nd Nephi Chapter 3, verses 4-11).

The gentiles don't thank the American Indians for the big brotherly example of honor, in keeping their word, and setting an example of honor the gentiles didn't have. The gentiles don't thank the American Indians for the corn, potatoes, and other foods they enjoy. They don't thank them for the unspoiled virgin land they took from them. They don't thank them for the Book of Mormon from which a man can get closer to God than any other book.

The L.D.S. gentiles were given a responsibility by God to impart of their riches to the poor of the American Indians. The Mormon Doctrine and Covenants Section 42 Verse 39... "For I will consecrate of the riches of those who embrace my gospel among the gentiles unto the poor of my people who are of the House of Israel." This has not yet been done!

It took blood and sacrifice to bring forth the Book of Mormon; which is the record of the American Indians, and tells them that they are of the House of Israel---the covenant people of God. The Mormons were mobbed, killed and driven from several states; one governor signed an extermination order to kill all Mormons. Joseph Smith, who performed the long hard job of translating the Book of Mormon, was killed by a mob at age 38. At that time, because of the persecutions which the Mormons suffered, the Mormons felt sympathy to the American Indians, and had the spirit of carrying the message of the Book of Mormon to them.

Book of Mormon, 3rd Nephi, Chapter 16, verse 12 quote "And I will show unto thee, 0 house of Israel, that the Gentiles shall not have power over you; but I will remember my covenant unto you, O house of Israel and ye shall come unto the knowledge of the fulness of my gospel".

Know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Know about the promises made to the American Indians forefathers in the Book of Mormon for their children of these latter days. Know how great the covenant God made with them for their children of this very time is.

2nd Nephi, chapter 29 verse 14 quote "And it shall come to pass that my people (American Indians, Jews and the lost tribes of Israel), which are of the house of Israel, shall be gathered home unto the lands of their possessions; and by my word also shall be gathered in one. And I will show unto them that fight against my word and my people who are of the house of Israel, that I am God, and that I covenanted with Abraham that I would remember his seed forever."

Mormon, Chapter 8, verse 21 - 22 quote "And he that shall breathe out wrath and strifes against the work of the Lord, and against the covenant people of the Lord who are the house of Israel (meaning the Lamanites of this day), and shall say: We will destroy the work of the Lord, and the Lord will not remember his covenant which he hath made unto the house of Israel - the same is in danger to be hewn down and cast into the fire;

"For the eternal purposes of the Lord shall roll on, until all his promises shall be fulfilled’".

Verse 23 "Yea, behold I say unto you, that those saints who have gone before me, who have possessed this land (America), shall cry, yea, even from the dust will they cry unto the Lord; and as the Lord liveth he will remember the covenant which he hath made with them".

Verse 24 "And he knoweth their prayers, that they were in behalf of their brethren (the Lamanites of these latter days)".

3rd Nephi, chapter 29, verse 9 quote "ye need not suppose that ye can turn the right hand of the Lord unto the left (stop the hand of the Lord), that he may not execute judgment unto the fulfilling of the covenant which he hath made unto the house of Israel (the American Indians)".

Chapter 30, verses 1 and 2 states the Gentiles will not utterly be destroyed, and that as many as repent will be numbered with the covenant people of the Lord, the American Indians.

God made a covenant with the American Indians fathers for their children of these latter days, and he will fulfill his promises to them.

The Gentiles would do well to heed the warnings to them in the Book of Mormon, and repent and make amends to the Indians for wronging them, while they have any time left to do so.

It is very necessary that the American Indians become convinced of the book of Mormon which has already gone forth among them. For as it is foretold in the book of Mormon, the American Indians will be the principle actors in the restoration of the Mormon Religion as practiced by their forefathers. And in the end, there will be only a small number of Gentiles, who must number themselves with the American Indian nations in accomplishing this great work.

The Book of Mormon states very plainly that this land is promised to the Indians for their inheritance, for they are the covenant people of the house of Israel.

The work of the Lord would fail if there were no people that didn’t have a fervent testimony to accept and be convinced with God’s spirit in all its beauty of the Book of Mormon.

There is a spiritual crisis affecting the whole earth because the Mormon religion was given to salt the earth with the enlightenment of God’s spirit. The Mormons are warned in the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Book of Mormon that they were given a mission to salt the earth; but if the salt were to lose its flavor, it is good for nothing but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.

The forefathers of the American Indians in the Book of Mormon times were eloquent speakers, able to speak with much power and the spirit of God, which has been handed down to their children - the American Indians of this day; and as is promised in the Book of Mormon, their children of this latter day would understand and accept the book of Mormon.

If the Mormons believed the book of Mormon and had the intelligence to read and accept what it says, they would have the desire to do their duty towards the American Indians who are Gods covenant people of the house of Israel, and his promises are extended to the Lamanites of these latter times.

The forefathers of the American Indians prayed in earnest that their descendants would receive and study the messages of the Book of Mormon.

The Mormon Church has put out many millions of Books of Mormon, worldwide and will yet put out millions more books of Mormon to the American Indians, who are foretold to be gradually grafted in to save the Lord’s vineyard, the Mormon Church. There are now 700,000 Mormons in Mexico, and very soon millions of Indians in Mexico, and South America will be convinced of the Book of Mormon, which will go forth among them.

God has promised in the Book of Mormon, that no one can keep him from fulfilling his covenant with the house of Israel, the American Indians.  God states whosoever would labor in the harvest, to do so with all his might. God tells us to be believing as in times of old. The American Indian forefathers in the Book of Mormon times, were believers in God, and had his power with them, and performed good works, and their hopes and prayers were for their children of these last days, who are the American Indians. They foresaw the bondage of these times for their children, and tried hard to leave the message in the Book of Mormon for their children to know they are God’s covenant people of the House of Israel. If they will turn to God in the true religion their Fathers lived, and Joseph Smith, God’s servant restored again on the Earth, God’s power will be with them.

There is a stronger than ever need for the Indians to reinforce the Mormon religion with their spiritual strength by accepting it as the only true religion on the Earth today.

It is foretold in both the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants that the American Indians will bring to light the true points of the doctrine of the Mormon religion, and the only doctrine which is in God.

The Mormon religion as established by God through his prophet Joseph Smith as the only true religion on earth, and is the same true religion described in the Book of Mormon that the American Indians forefathers lived, and were blessed of God with.  God told Joseph Smith that all other religions on earth were an abomination in his sight.

God spoke to the ancestors of the American Indians in the Book of Mormon records for a thousand years. For a few short years under the original Mormon Church leadership, God spoke to the Mormons; but they soon were seeking riches, and became proud, and lost Gods spirit. 2nd Nephi, Chapter 28, verse 21, stating the devil has pacified them, and lulled them away into carnal security, that they say: All is well in Zion; yea Zion prospereth, all is well - and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.  Brigham Young prophesied that the Mormons would be led to the brink of hell by their leaders.  It is time for the Book of Mormon, Jacob, Chapter 5 to be fulfilled that the Indians save the life still left in the root of the Mormon religion.

The world is in dire need of true meaningful spirituality that the Mormon religion was established to give. The hope is that Gods covenant people (the Lamanites) will soon come into their own and save God’s vineyard, the Mormon religion; by bringing true meaningful spirituality into it, and bringing to light its true doctrine, the only doctrine acceptable to God.

The Indians are foretold to be the main ones who will build the New Jerusalem.

D & C 88: 87—93 "For not many days hence and the earth shall tremble and reel to and fro as a drunken man; and the sun shall hide his face, and shall refuse to give light; and the moon shall be bathed in blood; and the stars shall become exceedingly angry, and shall cast themselves down as a fig that falleth from off a fig-tree....Then cometh the testimony of earthquakes, that shall cause groanings in the midst of her, and men shall fall upon the ground and shall not be able to stand. And also cometh the testimony of the voice of thunderings, and the voice of lightnings, and the voice of tempests, and the voice of the waves of the sea heaving themselves beyond their bounds. And all things shall be in commotion; and surely, men’s hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people. And angels shall fly through the midst of heaven, crying with a loud voice, sounding the trump of God,, saying: Prepare ye, prepare ye, 0 inhabitants of the earth; for the judgement of our God is come.... And immediately there shall appear a great sign in heaven, and all people shall see it together.

Wherefore, the remnant of the house of Joseph shall be built upon this land; and it shall be a land of their inheritance; and they (Lamanites) shall build up a holy city unto the Lord, like unto the Jerusalem of old;...

Pearl of Great Price MOSES 7:62, 64-65

....an Holy City, that my people may gird up their loins, and be looking for the time of my coming; for there shall be my tabernacle, and it shall be called Zion, a New Jerusalem. And there shall be mine abode, and it shall be Zion, which shall come forth out of all the creations which I have made; and for the space of a thousand years the earth shall rest. And it came to pass that Enoch saw the day of the coming of the Son of Man, in the last days, to dwell on the earth in righteousness for the space of a thousand years;.

3rd Nephi, Chapter 20 verse 22 "And behold this people (the American Indians) will I establish in this land, unto the fulfilling of the covenant which I made with your father Jacob; and it shall be a New Jerusalem. And the powers of heaven shall be in the midst of this people; yea, even I will be in the midst of you."

Verse 25 quote "And behold, ye are the children of the prophets; and ye are of the house of Israel; and ye are of the covenant which the Father made with your fathers, saying unto Abraham: And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed."

Ether, Chapter 13, verse 8 quote "Wherefore, the remnant of the house of Joseph (the American Indians) shall be built upon this land; and it shall be a land of their inheritance; and they (the American Indians) shall build up a holy city unto the Lord, like unto Jerusalem of old; they shall no more be confounded, until the end come when the earth shall pass away."

Verse 10 quote "And then cometh the New Jerusalem; and blessed are they who dwell Therein,. . . and they who are numbered among the remnant of the seed of Joseph (the latter day Lamanites), who were of the house of Israel":

3rd Nephi, Chapter 21, verse 22 states if the gentiles will repent and hearken unto Christ’s words and harden not their hearts, they shall come in unto the covenant, and be numbered among the remnant of Jacob (the American Indians) of these last days, unto whom the Lord has given this land for their inheritance. ,

Verse 23 quote "And they (the gentiles) shall assist My people, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come, that they may build a city, which shall be called the New Jerusalem"

In the Mormon Doctrine and Covenants, section 84, a revelation given on September 22, and 23, 1832: to Joseph Smith states that the New Jerusalem would be built on this continent before that generation of 1832 shall completely pass away. Which means real soon now, the American Indians will build the predicted New Jerusalem."

The Three Nephites

In the Book of Mormon, nearly two thousand years ago, when Christ came to the forefathers of the American Indians to establish his church among them, He ordained twelve Apostles.

3 Nephi 28 v. 4-7, "And when he had spoken unto them, he turned himself unto the three, and said unto them: What will ye that I should do unto you, when I am gone unto the Father? " And they sorrowed in their hearts, for they durst not speak unto him the thing which they desired.

"And he said unto them: Behold, I know your thoughts, and ye have desired the thing which John, my beloved, who was with me in my ministry, before that I was lifted up by the Jews, desired of me.

"Therefore, more blessed are ye, for ye shall never taste of death; but ye shall live to behold all the doings of the Father unto the children of men, even until all things shall be fulfilled according to the will of the Father, when I shall come in my glory with the powers of heaven.

There are many accounts of these men appearing to the different Tribes. They speak to them in their own languages, and give them instructions. They come when least expected as humble men, sometimes asking for a meal. They are as the Angels of God. They shall minister unto the scattered Tribes. They can show themselves to whomsoever it seemeth them good. Therefore, great and marvelous works shall be wrought by them before the great and coming day when all people must surely stand before the Judgment-seat of Christ.

American Indians should be aware of these three ancients along with John the Revelator, who will be among them in these last days, to help, and prepare them for their promised blessings as Gods covenant people.

Revelation to Joseph Smith Doctrine & Covenants 130: 15-16 "Joseph, my son, if thou livest until thou art eighty-five years old, thou shalt see the face of the Son of Man; therefore let this suffice, and trouble me no more on this matter.  I was left thus, without being able to decide whether this coming referred to the beginning of the millennium or to some previous appearing, or whether I should die and thus see his face."

DESERET NEWS November 18, 1890 - The newspapers of the whole country carried many stories of the event during 1890, including the Deseret News. But there were few who really believed it. They called it "the Messiah Craze" among the Indians. Never the less, it received wide attention in the nation’s press because of the Indian problems it created. The Indians were so agitated on at least 16 tribal reservations that General Miles of the U.S. Army found it necessary to make a tour of all army installations in and near these reservations, to see what could be done about all this agitation over an Indian Messiah.

This so—called "Messiah Craze" had become the inspiration for Chief Sitting Bull to believe that he could arouse the Indians to another victory greater than the destruction of Custer’s forces at the Little Big Horn, for the Messiah had promised them that the Whites should be destroyed from off this land, and the land would be given back to the Indians, from whom the Whites had so unfairly taken it, and had broken so many treaties concerning payment for it.  In fact, certain government agents found it necessary to have Chief sitting Bull "accidentally" killed to put a stop to his Indian Messiah activities.

In the Deseret News for Nov. 7, 1890, a St. Paul dispatch is quoted under the title of "Indian Messiah,’ as follows: "General Miles is here on his return from his Western tour. He says: ‘I have been in Utah, Montana and Cheyenne Reservations, investigating. You have no doubt heard that Indian tribes are reported to believe that the Messiah has come, who is to restore them to their former glory. . and drive the Whites from the land. I have learned that this belief exists among sixteen tribes. There is no doubt that many Indians who are holding this belief in the Indian Messiah are sincere, and a few have certainly seen some person on whom they look to be that Messiah.

"‘Several small parties of Indians have gone from their tribes to some point in Nevada. There they have been shown somebody disguised as the Messiah and have spoken with him. I am inclined to believe that there is more than one person impersonating this Messiah, as when the Sioux have spoken with him, he replied in the Sioux language. . . and so on, with the representatives of each nation.

"General Miles gave his opinion ’that the Mormons are prime movers in it. It is noteworthy, (says he) that this so—called Messiah tells Indians that when he comes to reign over them, firearms will no longer be used, that he will draw a line behind, which he will gather all Indians, and then he will roll the earth back upon the Whites. This has naturally excited the Indians and large numbers have accepted the new belief.  None is more ardent than Chief Sitting Bull, who is intensely Indian in all his ideas. .The argument Indians use is: "The Whites have had their Messiah, and the Indians NOW have theirs."’"

In the Deseret News for Nov. 8, 1890, an article dated Nov. 4th, taken from a Kansas City dispatch from Ft. Reno, Special, quotes Sitting Bull as follows:

"The Messiah said He had come to save the White Man, but they had persecuted Him, and now He had come to deliver the long tormented Indians. .All day Christ instructed them and gave them evidence of His powers.  He, Sitting Bull, told his people His story, and asked that Porcupine (one of the Twelve) be sent for to verify it.  He (Porcupine) returned with the same tale and presumably all were convinced.

"We have a large number of extracts from the different newspapers (says the editor) on the subject of , ‘The Indian Christ’, claiming to embody the assertions of the aborigines who state they have seen the Messiah and heard Him talk. .That a personage exhibiting super— natural powers has shown Himself...That He showed the marks of spikes having been driven through His hands. He had offered to save the Whites, and they had refused to accept Him, and now the day of the Indians, who are to be restored to ownership of the land, had come. He also taught them to be honest, peaceful, cleanly, and to give up all bad habits." The editor adds: ‘To say the least, it is a wonderful movement, and one is puzzled in endeavoring to account for it.

"He sternly denies General Miles suggested idea that the Mormons are connected with this event: ‘Indeed many Mormons are themselves conjecturing as to the meaning of this extraordinary agitation among the aborigines, and are puzzled to know what it means.’"

About the only official Mormon reaction we find, comes from Susa Young Gates, editor of the "Young Women’s Journal," Vol. 1:477--- "Few, if any, of our leading Brethren doubt the probability, of a certain, if exaggerated, foundation for these stories. Our Lord is evidently setting His hand to prepare the scattered remnants of Israel for the great events about to take place.’

There are other articles about the Indian Messiah in the Desert News for Nov 10, 1890, and Nov.. 18th, and Dec. 16th and 17th, 1890. —Also many more of them in the Deseret Weekly of this period, and in the "Contributor," Vol. 12:114, and several in Vol. 52 of the "Millennial Star, which will not all be given here. But of special interest is the one in the Deseret News, for No,. 18, 1890, quoting from a Chicago dispatch of Nov. 17, 1890. ,

"General Miles has received from the Post—Adjutant. at Ft. Custer, Montana, a report of Lt. Robertson, who carefully investigated the new religious craze at the Cheyenne Agency. His talks were principally with Porcupine, Apostle of the new religion among the Cheyenne, and with Big Beaver, who accompanied Porcupine on his visit to the new Christ at Walker Lake, Nevada... Porcupine told him that there were several hundred Indians at Walker Lake at the time, including representatives of the Cheyenne, Sioux, Arapahoes, Gros-Ventres, Utes, Navajos, Bannocks, and other strange tribes, —some were white, from a far distance that he did not know."

Apostle Porcupine's Sermon

Millenial Star August 18, 1890, Volume 52:532-535.  Eye-witness account of F.K. Upham "It tells how a very righteous young Indian by the name of Porcupine from the Cheyennes was, like certain wise men of the East, inspired to make this long pilgrimage to Walker Lake, Nevada, to see their Messiah.  He was accompanied by his wife and two other Indians, and, like the wise men of the East, they were very content with the high reward of their journey, for they had seen the Christ!"

"It was possibly in the vicinity of Walker Lake or Pyramid Lake in Nevada.  It was in the Mountains where Porcupine found himself with many strange Indians whose language he could not speak, and who, like himself, had come from afar off, - but all had come to see the Christ.

"At sundown the Indians collected in large numbers, and after it became dark He appeared to them, - a large fire being built to throw the light on him.  He was not as dark as an Indian nor as light as a white man, and his dress was partly like each. He sat for a long time in perfect silence, with his head bowed, during which time the Indians never moved nor spoke.  They were told that if they even whispered, the Christ would know it and be displeased .

"After a time He raised His head, and then Porcupine saw that he was fair to look upon, that His face had no beard, and was youthful, and that His bright hair extended to His waist.

"Porcupine had heard that the Christ of the white man had been nailed to the cross, and looking he was able to see the scars of the nails in the hands of the Indian's Christ when he raised them.  In His feet he could not see the marks of the nails by reason of the moccasins, but he was told they were there, and that in His side were spear marks which were concealed by the shirt He wore.

"Porcupine was told that His own coming had, with eleven others, been foretold by the Christ, who had sent for them, and that was why he had involuntarily taken the long journey...

"The Christ spoke to them and took Porcupine by the hand, and told them that they were all His children.  He talked to them until it was day, telling them that He had made them, and all the things around them; that in the beginning God had made the Earth, and after a time had sent Him on the earth to teach the people what was right; but the people were afraid of Him, and 'this is what they did to Me.' showing the scars.

"He said, when He found that the children were bad, He went back above, and promised to return after many hundred years.  Now the time was up and God had told Him the earth was old and worn out, and had sent Him again to renew it and make things better.  He said that all the dead were to be resurrected and brought back to life on this earth, which was too small to hold them all; but He would do away with Heaven and make the earth large enough to hold them all.

"He spoke about fighting, that it was bad, and that Indians must not do it anymore; that the earth hereafter was to be all good and everybody must love one another.

"He said He would send among them those who could heal wounds and cure the sick by the laying on of the hands, and that the good would live here forever, and the buffalo would come back.

"He said it was wrong to kill men of any kind, that if any man disobeyed these teachings, he would be banished from the face of the earth; that the Indians must believe all that He now told them, and not say that He lied, for He would know their thoughts, no matter what part of the world they were in, and they could not expect to deceive Him.

"Among those whom Porcupine saw were some who seemed like white men, but they all seemed good--and all listened and believed what the Christ said to them.

"During Porcupine's stay of many days, the Christ several times repeated these talks and told the Indians that when they returned to their people they must tell them all these things.  But He was not all the time visible, and could disappear at will. 'He is here among us tonight and knows all that we are talking about!' said Porcupine. ' - I am sorry to say there are one or two Cheyennes who do not believe what I have said, I wish these and some of you would go back with me and see that I have spoken the truth.  When you have seen Christ once, you can see Him in your sleep, that is, if you have shaken His hand; and through Him you can go to heaven and see your friends who are dead.  I see Him often in my sleep and He told me there was trouble for the Cheyennes.  The next night He came to me and told me that all would be well in the end."

Predictions concerning the Jews

2nd Nephi, Chapter 30 verse 7 quote "And it shall come to pass that the Jews which are scattered also shall begin to believe in Christ, and they shall begin to gather in upon the face of the land; and as many as shall believe in Christ shall also become a delightsome people."

Verse 18 quote "Wherefore, all things which have been revealed unto the children of men shall at that day be revealed; and Satan shall have power over the hearts of the children of men no more, for a long time."

The prophet Ezekiel was commanded to write upon two sticks, one for Judah, and one for Joseph; after which he was commanded to join them together into one. When the children of Israel shou1d make inquiry of what these two united writings of Judah and Joseph meant, he was to say unto them, that the Lord God would join the writings of Joseph with those of Judah. Immediately after, He would take the children of Israel and gather them on every side and bring them into their own land. The writings of Judah refers to the Bible. The Book of Mormon is a brief, but faithful history of a branch of the tribe of Joseph (the Lamanites).

We learn from the Bible that Jacob confers on Joseph a greater land than the land promised to the Jews (Genesis 49:26). According to the Book of Mormon all of the great western continent was given to the remnant of Joseph as their land of promise.

Isaiah, Chapter 60, foretells of the wealth, beauty and magnificence of the cities of Zion and Jerusalem: "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. They shall inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation; I the Lord will hasten it in his time.

The American Indians were the original Mormons on this continent.

They possessed vast libraries of scriptures, and records, preserved for their descendants. They had exactly the same true religion as revealed by God to Joseph Smith in this latter day,

Quote:

Wherefore, the fruit of thy loins (the forefathers of the American Indians) shall write (The Book of Mormon); and the fruit of the loins of Judah shall write (The Bible); and that which shall be written by the fruit of thy loins, and also that which shall be written by the fruit of the loins of Judah, shall grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace among the fruit of thy loins (the American Indians), and bringing them to the knowledge of their fathers in the latter days,. and also to the knowledge of my covenants, saith the Lord. 2 Nephi. 3:12.

The ancient Prophet Mormon, the father of Moroni, had been entrusted with all of the sacred records of his forefathers engraved on metallic plates. New plates were made by Mormon, on which he wrote, from the more ancient books, an abridged history of the nation, incorporating therewith many revelations, prophecies, the gospel, etc. These new plates were given to his son Moroni to finish the history.  Mormon then deposited all the ancient plates in the hill Cumorah, at about 384 years AD.  When Moroni about 36 years later, made the deposit of the  abridged book entrusted to him, he was without a doubt, inspired to select a department of the hill separate from the great sacred depository of the numerous volumes hid up by his father. The particular place in the hill, where Moroni secreted, the book, was revealed by the angel, to the Prophet Joseph Smith, to whom it was delivered in Sept, of 1827.  But the grand repository of all the numerous records of the Ancient Nations of the western continent was located in another department of the hill Cumorah, and its contents under the charge of holy Angels, until the day should come, for them to be transferred.  This written history, of this people (the American Indians), is but a small part of the legacy and promises that they are to inherit.

Brigham Young related the following in 1877 that after Joseph Smith had translated the plates Into the Book of Mormon he and Oliver Cowdery returned them to the hill Cumorah. When Joseph Smith got the plates the Angel instructed him to carry them back to the hill Cumorah which he did. Oliver Cowdery said that when Joseph and himself went there, the hill opened, and they walked into a cave in which there was a large and spacious room, he said he did not think, at the time, whether they had the light of the sun or artificial light but that it was just as light as day.  They laid the plates on a table; it was a large table that stood in the room. Under this table there was a pile of plates as much as two feet high, and there were altogether in this room more plates than probably many wagon loads; they were piled up in the corners and along the walls."

This SACRED WRITTEN HISTORY of the American Indians is the most complete, and comprehensive of any peoples on the earth, and is yet to come forth from God, and be translated!

Joseph Smith said a man can get closer to God, and obtain more knowledge necessary for salvation, from reading the Book of Mormon, than reading any other book.  Every word in the Book of Mormon was written by Indians, the blood fathers of the present day American Indians.

The Book of Mormon is the true and only religion of the American Indians fathers, and through their faith and prayers it is handed down to the present day American Indians, that they might know of the truths of God.  Anything that conflicts with what is written in the Book of Mormon is not of God.

The Indians of this last day are predicted both in the Book of Mormon, and the Mormon Doctrine and Covenants to accept, and build up the Mormon religion as revealed to Joseph Smith, and they shall not deny that which he had received, "but they shall build it up, and shall bring to light the true points of my doctrine, yea, and the only doctrine which is in me." D&C 10:62

1845 PROCLAMATION OF THE TWELVE APOSTLES OF THE

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

--------- ‘The Lord will make her that halted a remnant, and gather her that was driven out and afflicted; and make her who was cast afar off a strong nation; and will reign over them in Mount Zion from that time forth and for ever.

Or, in other words, He will assemble the natives, the remnants of Joseph in America, and make of them a great, and strong and powerful nation; and he will civilize and enlighten them, and will establish a holy city, and temple, and seat of government among them, which shall be called Zion.

And there shall be his tabernacle, his sanctuary, his throne, and seat of government for the whole continent of North and South America for ever; in short, it will be to the western hemisphere what Jerusalem will be to the eastern.

And there the Messiah will visit them in person; and the old Saints, who will then have been raised from the dead, will be with him; and he will establish his kingdom and laws over all the land.

To this city, and to its several branches or stakes, shall the Gentiles seek, as to a standard of light and knowledge; yea, the nations, and their kings and nobles shall say-- Come, and let us go up to the Mount Zion, and to the temple of the Lord, where his holy priesthood stand to minister continually before the Lord; and where we may be instructed more fully, and receive the ordinances of remission, and of sanctification, and redemption, and thus be adopted into the family of Israel, and identified in the same covenants of promise.

The despised and degraded son of the forest, who has wandered in dejection and sorrow, and suffered reproach, shall then drop his disguise and stand forth in manly dignity, and exclaim to the Gentiles who have envied and sold him-" I am Joseph; does my father yet live?" or, in other words, I am a descendant of that Joseph who was sold into Egypt. You have hated me, and sold me, and thought I was dead; but lo! I live and am heir to the inheritance, titles, honours, priesthood, sceptre, crown, throne, and eternal life and dignity of my fathers, who live for evermore.

He shall then be ordained, washed, anointed with holy oil, and arrayed in fine linen, even in the glorious and beautiful garments and royal robes of the high priesthood, which is after the order of the Son of God; and shall enter into the congregation of the Lord, even into the Holy of Holies, there to be crowned with authority and power which shall never end.

The spirit of the Lord shall then descend upon him like the dew upon the mountains of Hermon, and like refreshing showers of rain upon the flowers of Paradise.

His heart shall expand with knowledge, wide as eternity, and his mind shall comprehend the vast creations of his God, and his eternal purpose of redemption, glory, and exaltation, which was devised in heaven before the worlds were organized; but made manifest in these last days, for the fulness of the Gentiles, and for the exaltation of Israel.

He shall also behold his Redeemer, and be filled with his presence, while the cloud of his glory shall be seen in his temple.

The city of Zion, with its sanctuary and priesthood, and the glorious fulness of the gospel, will constitute a standard which will put an end to jarring creeds and political wranglings, by uniting the republics, states, provinces, territories, nations, tribes, kindred, tongues, people, and sects of North and South America in one great and common bond of brotherhood; while truth and knowledge shall make them free, and love cement their union.

The Lord also shall be their king and their lawgiver; while wars shall cease and peace prevail for a thousand years.

Thus shall American rulers, statesmen, citizens, and savages know  this once that there is a God in Israel, who can utter his voice and it shall be fulfilled."
